New police station goes 10-8, ready for duty

Iowa Park city manager Jerry Flemming reports good news this week regarding the new police station.
Flemming stated that a certificate of occupancy has been issued for the new Iowa Park Police Station at 400 E Highway in Iowa Park. The Dispatch Center has been successfully relocated from 104 E Highway to 400 E Highway and is operating. The new police station lobby is open to the public. The old police station at 104 E Highway is now closed to the public.
While construction is substantially complete, there will be no grand opening celebrations, open house, or public tours until construction has been completed and all elements of the police department have been relocated from the old police station to the new station. Access to most of the facility is restricted.
Construction on the new fire station at 200 E Highway is also nearing completion and occupancy is anticipated before the New Year.
