Lots of rain expected over next few days

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms will move into  western north Texas this afternoon and spread east through the area tonight. Multiple waves of rain are expected through Friday with some locally heavy rainfall possible.

Today
A slight chance of showers before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 3pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. East northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 55. East northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 2 and 3 inches possible.
Friday
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 67. East wind 11 to 17 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
