Applications now accepted for candidates for May’s city council election

Applications are now being accepted to be named on the ballot for the general election May 3, 2025.

The Iowa Park Home Rule Charter mandates that councilors for Place 1, Place 3, and Place 5 be elected for a two-year term in odd numbered years.

Current council members, Stephanie Wooten, (Place 1), Randall Barker, (Place 3), and Sherry Williams, (Place 5), had filed applications as of January 24, 2025.

Individuals interested in applying may inquire of Janice Newman, city secretary, 103 N. Wall. Applications are being accepted through February 14, 2025.
