Ingersoll has hot hand in Lady Hawk win
Lady Hawks 47, Tigerettes 42
After a season full of near misses, the Lady Hawks picked up their first win in District 7-3A on Friday, beating Jacksboro 47-42. Leading scorers for Iowa Park were Rylee Ingersoll with 23, and Raylee Huse with 14.
The Tigerettes jumped ahead 4-0 early. The Lady Hawks broke through on an offensive rebound by Callista Berrett, who fired out a pass to Ingersoll for a smooth three. Berrett stole the next possession and dished to Raylee Huse for a layup and the Lady Hawks led 5-4 halfway through the first quarter. The next time down the court, Berrett drove the paint and kicked out to Ingersoll for an open 3 and a 8-4 lead. It was 12-9 after one quarter.
The Tigerettes closed to within a point, but 2 Huse free throws and a steal by Lyla Bodkin finished with a fast break three by Ingersoll made it 19-13 and prompted a timeout with under 6 minutes left in the second. It was 24-19 at half.
Huse opened the second bouncing home a runner off an offensive rebound, Ingersoll drained another three and the Lady Hawks opened up a 29-19 lead. It was 32-30 after three quarters.
The Lady Hawks opened the fourth with a steal and coast-to-coast layup from Huse. Jacksboro tied the game with four free throws at 34-34, then another charity stripe point gave them a 35-34 lead with just over five minutes left. The Lady Hawks dug deep and won the sprint to the finish. Huse raced through the defense for a layup and gave Iowa Park a quick 36-35 advantage. Bodkin then forced a travel on defense. Ingersoll drained a top of the key three and suddenly the Lady Hawks led 39-35 with 4:40 left. Jacksboro clawed back to within 41-40 with 1:08 left Out of a timeout, the Lady Hawks got an easy bucket on a beautiful set play by Berrett made it 43-40 with under a minute to play. It was 43-42 before two free throws by Huse took it to 45-42 with 15 seconds left. Jacksboro missed a potential tying three and the Lady Hawks got a final layup for the win.

The Lady Hawks are 1-8 in district, Jacksboro is 4-6.
